Firstly, there were no attendees to latest PACT meeting held on the 21st July at Tunstall Library, so either there are no major problems that people wanted to bring to the polices attention, or no one could make the meeting.
- Community tensions remain high following the funeral of Mr Israr Ellahi, formerly of Stanley Street, Tunstall. Vulnerable locations continue to be monitored and our current patrol strategy will remain in place. Huge amounts of intel has been gathered and is currently being investigated by our Major Investigation Dept.
- More than 1400 fewer crimes were recorded in the county between April and June compared to the same period last year. The total number of offences dropped by almost 7%.
- Serious aquisitive crime fell by 24%
- Business crime dropped by almost 14%.
- Figures also show a 7.5% reduction in the number of violence with injury crimes recorded.
- We have reduced the number of people killed or seriously injured on our roads by 16%.
- Anti Social Behaviour remains our top priority and Staffs Police together with it's partners will continue to tackle the things that matter most to the communities we serve.
Many thanks PCSO Andy Wooton, from Tunstall Police Station for the update
