Buy properties for cash scam in Stoke on Trent - Scam Alert

A company are targeting the area with fliers offering to buy properties for cash “regardless of condition or price”. There is some evidence to show that their claims may be misleading. The company says that there will be no delays and that they can complete the sale within 7 days.

There have been complaints that sellers are offered a sum well below the market value of their property and if they agree to sell do not get their money until the company have found a buyer which in the current market can be a long time.

The company will sell the property on for far more than they pay the original seller and will keep the difference as commission. They appoint their own solicitors to deal with the sale and if the original seller threatens to pull out of the deal will threaten to recover their costs.

The company may be targeting properties owned by elderly residents.
