'Old Bill'board - Meet your Police Station Chief

Starts
People across Staffordshire are to get a huge opportunity to meet their neighbourhood policing commanders - and they’ll be left in no doubt about where and where to find them!
Until early October, massive billboards will be appearing at locations throughout the force area, including TUNSTALL, inviting residents to meet their local inspector – in some cases, directly beneath big arrows that will feature in the adverts. All of the ads will include large photographs of the officers and the times they’ll be available at the billboards, or at a nearby supermarket or shop, to listen to people’s local policing concerns and issues.
And all of the venues and details are available online, in a specially-created interactive map which you can access by clicking here.

Assistant Chief Constable Marcus Beale said: “We are very keen that people have as many opportunities as possible to meet and speak to their local officers.
“Each area has its own, unique issues and we want to hear about them. It’s only by listening to people’s concerns that we can put a neighbourhood’s issues into context, and work with our partners on finding a way forward.
“Our billboard campaign will give tens of thousands of people the chance to see when and where they can speak to their local policing inspector, and I very much hope that people will make the most of the opportunity.
“As a force we are committed to reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, and to keeping our communities safe and reassured. Crime and ASB are down, and we are determined to keep it that way.
“We’re also focusing on maintaining the very high satisfaction levels with the service we provide to people who’ve contacted us about a crime or ASB, which currently stand at nearly 90 per cent.”
The force website – www.staffordshire.police.uk – carries details of local meetings for each neighbourhood policing unit in Staffordshire, plus names, photos and contact details for local officers.
THe first 'Old-Bill' board ad was in Longton in December last year and was extremely successful with over 200 people meeting their local Inspector and over 140,000 saw the advert.

The Neighbourhood Policing Commander for the Tunstall area will be out on the street everyday this week to meet with members of the community during the latest phase of the forces ‘Under the Arrow’ campaign.
Inspector Mark Hardern will be ‘under the arrow’ under a billboard on Scotia Road, Tunstall between 11.00 am and 1.00 pm from Tuesday 5 October to Saturday 9 October.
The billboard is as close to the town centre as possible and provides an ideal opportunity for local members of the community to come along and meet with
the man responsible for delivering local policing.
Inspector Mark Hardern said “I am looking forward to an interesting week speaking to local residents about the issues that matter to them. I spend a
great deal of my time speaking to local residents about the issues and updating them on the action that has been taken by the local policing team and City Council.”
