Stoke-on-Trent Crime Alert - Distraction Burglaries

Yesterday there were three offences of distraction burglary in Cheshire, where the offenders claimed that they were from the waterboard and needed entry to the property to check for poison or parasites.

The only description available of the offenders is that they were males in their 30's. I have not come across these particular stories (poison, parasites) before.

Please warn your members. Should anybody seek entry to your home on the pretext of checking the water for poison or parasites, refuse entry and call the police on '999.' It is thought that this team may move into the area.
