Our council keep saying they have no money and things are only going to get worse.
Working for a private company, as many of us do, we have had 5 or so years of zero payrises meaning an approximate 15% pay cut. Perhaps all council staff should accept a 15% paycut in order to bring the council costs in line with that of private organisations.
We as a nation need to tighten our belts at these times, including the council.
