Aye up,

I thought I would nip in again and hijack the "Where in Tunstall" competition.

No prize from me I'm afraid, except the warm glow of being the first to guess it right.

I came across this thing a couple of weeks ago and thought "How odd, I've never seen this before,"

As ever the picture was taken in Tunstall proper, and the first person to name the street that it is in, or can acurately describe where it is, is the winner.

Good Luck All

From now on, only a street name will secure being the correct answer.

Well done Web Monkey,

Well done Web Monkey, Washington Street it is.

You can officially bask in the warm glow of getting it right.

Also feel free to award yourself a handful of points.

When I saw these weird "mouse holes" in the kerb I thought that it would be a good contender for a competition. I've never seen anything like them before. I have no idea what they are for. Drainage?

I was a little worried that they might be more common, and that Tunstall is actually riddled with these odd kerbs, especially the newer parts of the town.

I don't think you get a very good view of this odd feature on Google maps. I hope you all check them out in real life the next time you're in the vicinity.

Thanks to everyone who took part.
