Besides when you look at the differences between our generation and yours there weren't those many American influences apart from the old black and white cow boy and war films
, whilst for my Generation about 1/4 of TV content is American, whilst kids TV would be even higher.
You can hardly blame us for picking some stuff up.

In fact the old COOP holds so many vivid memories for me, being dragged around it as a little boy by my mom.
When you first came in was it fruit and veg, and if I remember right wasn't there a little hut where you could get pooles/scratch cards.
