Don't leave your cars unattended whilst they are warming up - Insurance will be invalidated if stolen - Crime Alert

As in previous years, can I remind members not to leave vehicles unattended with the engine running as a means of warming up the vehicle and defrosting the windscreen. A car has been stolen in an adjoining division because of this. Should it happen, the vehicle is unlikely to be covered for insurance purposes - there is a duty on a policy-holder to exercise care.
