As we've heard over the past few weeks our open space area is being badly maintained and also abused by some of the people who use it.
To view the Bankeyfields - Tunstall - Park and Openspace disgrace gallery, click the highlighted text.
Sorry about some of the dog poo images, but unless you see it you've got no idea how disgusting it is.
As to the glass in the park, it's probably safer letting your kids play on Reginald Mitchell Way (Just an analogy, I wasn't suggesting you do).
Please post your thought and your comments.

Zero Tollerence To Dog Fouling
With regards to dog fouling on the open-space may I suggest the following?
1, anyone walking on the open-space and witnesses any body failing to clean up after their pet could you please challenge the individual by reminding them that they are on a public place and that it also a play area for children. If you are verbally abused report it to the website giving a full description of the individual and the breed of there dog, if this person is a repeat offender details could be passed on to the appropriate authority.
2, We should also enlist the help of the council by getting them to send out enforcement officers to walk through the park a few times a day in the hope of catching someone out. We all know that the majority of dog fouling occurs between 06.30am to 08.30am just before people set off for work as they like to see there pets empty before they are locked in whilst there owners are out to work. Also 16.30pm to 19.30pm is also a favorite time.
It would only take a couple of successful prosecutions and there outcomes well publicized in the local press and via this website that this Neighbourhood has a zero tolerance to this anti-social behavior and anyone caught will de dealt with in the appropriate manner.
Dog Fouling Signs Update
Following up on my initial e-mail to the council regarding the lack of dog fouling signs on the estate especially in and around Spitfire Way and the open-space area I rang the council and have been assured that a request has been submitted to the appropriate department so fingers crossed. I shall pursue this matter every week until the signs arrive.
Letter fromt the council
It makes you laugh.
After the council carried out the clean up of the alley ways and Reginald Mitchell way, I went onto the council website and went to the contact us form.
I choose compliment rather than a complaint and thanked them, complementing them on how fast they did the job, and also asked them to not forget one of the main points and get the glass and the poo out of the park.
The glass and the poo are still in the park as you saw from yesterdays gallery, but I did get a nice letter thanking me for my compliment.
"It's always nice to hear when our services are appreciated and it is very good of you to take the time to contact us.
The relevant service / member(s) of staff have been made aware of your positive feedback"
I might make another complaint about the park, and then swiftly follow it up with a compliment to see if it gets done.
Who knows the kids might be able to use the park before the school holidays are over.
