I've spent the past few days upgrading Bankeyfields from the content management system Drupal, version 5, to Drupal version 6.

Over the next few days, there might be the odd miss-hap, but on the most part, so please let me know if anyone experiences any weirdness with the site.

One of the major fixes is when clicking on a comment link. The link will now take you directly to the comment you've clicked.

Move follows.

new feature - bookmark this

Have you ever wished you could easily bookmark a page within the site and easily get to that page from your profile page?

Well now you can, simply navigate to an article (such as this page), and towards the bottom of the article (normally just above the comments area) you will see a link that says Bookmark this.

Click it!

and the page will be saved to your bookmarks.

Click it again, and the page will be removed from your bookmarks.

Accessing your bookmarks

This couldn't be easier, all you need to do is visit your account page, and look for the Booksmarks tabs.

Another new mod to the home page - Story layout

Will you let me know what you think about the changes to the home page please.
Basically, the latest stories have been tweaked so you can see a cut down teaser of what the story is about.

The format has also changed from a table layout, to a list format, so the forums/blogs etc are laid out better.

Your feedback is appreciated so I can make the site better.

Footer and layout changes.

Footer and layout changes.

I've given the footer lists a little bit of a make over, which should hopefully break them up a little, and make them easier to read.

Both the home page list of latest content, and the footer have all had, a nice rounded and shadow effect applied to them.

Not every one will see the changes, but if you've done the right thing and abandoned Internet explorer, and are using a web standards compliant browsers, such as Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari or Opera then you should be able to see the difference.

Everyone else, your missing out on a better browsing experience.

Drupal 7

Any idea when Bankeyfields will upgrade to Drupal 7?

Drupal 7 is still in it's

Drupal 7 is still in it's final stages of testing, so its not yet had an official release yet.

Once it has, its then a case waiting for the modules mytunstall makes use of to be updated to version 7 versions.

Once all of that is done, I've got several dripal 7 sites under my belt, ill try and upgrade.

The last upgrade took about 4 evenings, and then a further week or two ironing the bugs out.

So probably 2011/12

Are there any new features that you'd like to see? Have you used any of the newer features such as the bookmarks?
