Yeah, those were the days

Now a days every one says it's safer to go to an organised event, you'll be better off.

And ok, maybe that's true, but there's just no spirit when you get there, it also costs you an arm and a leg to acquire these so called spirits.

If we some how managed to organise one (gasman's volunteered already), people wanting to take part could chip in for fireworks + food, and I'm sure Popeye would set up his make shift BQ if we asked nicely.

As a kid I used to love the community bonfire situated in the fields just off the car park on Newchapel Road, Rookery, Kidsgrove. You'd know everyone, your parents would gas for ages and have a good time. Everyone made sure their's and everyone elses kids were safe.

No doubt the idea will all be shut down by the PR brigade, but you've got my vote.

Bonfire

In these days of the environmental affects of burning fossil fuels, I am constantly being dragged down by the costs of supporting environmental efforts to cut down on carbon gas's that affect the earths atmosphere.

As responsible adults, do you really think that having a bonfire is really a good idea?

This so typical of the hypocritical behaviour of people in the country. All year round I get it rammed down my throat by the media, councils and government about reducing the harmful affects of CO2 emissions, and have my taxes’ raised to fund projects.

Then once a year for a 2 week period, it seems to be OK to light fires every where, and fire off millions of fire works into the air.

Give me break folks, wake up and smell the coffee. You’re all being taken for a ride.

If you want to waste your money on this kind of stuff, not only do you need to have your heads testing, but you obviously have more money than sense.

Well I must say then, my

Well I must say then, my carbon emissions on the night of November 5th, will possibly exceed my limit for the year by about double LOL, We have that much gunpowder in the fireworks bought from JTF Wholesale it will take all night to get through them all. Every year our display gets bigger and bigger.

But talking about carbon emissions I have probably blown all my limit today at our Diesel Gala at the GCRN, and we still have tomorrow to go LOL.
