BURGULARS - Tunstall shed breakins

Just to report a attempted burglary!

Happened last night, A youth scampering quiet loudly in the garden, tried to break into the shed.

Was stopped when we shouted out of the bedroom window, and then he climbed down the
9 ft drop into the cemetery!!

The police were called and searched the cemetery but not found anything.

They had managed to break into next doors shed but there was nothing in there.

Remember to make sure property and sheds are locked.

I'll do an email alert out too

Hi Emma, thanks for posting this up, and letting all of us know. (Exactly what this website was designed for.)

Not wanting to sound callus, but I hope the burgular has a very distinct limp after their 9ft fall to make it easier to ID them.

How are you and Mr T. handling this, shook up or mad as hell?

OWL Alert

Householders in the Tunstall area should be on the alert. Last week a prolific burglar was arrested, charged and placed before the magistrates for several offences in the Tunstall area. The decision of the court was to bail the offender pending trial. The offender lives in the Stanfields area and so areas close to Stanfields are particularly vulnerable.

Members in the Bankeyfields area are reporting that on Saturday night offenders were disturbed breaking into sheds on Hurricane Grove.

Home and Shed security advice is available

Thanks WEb Monkey!
I was pretty upset by it, but luckily nothing was taken!
Steve is just mad!

Police were good though, not found him but were in the cemetery quick, looking even with the dogs!

Which houses and where

Which houses and where abouts on Hurricane Grove were the break ins? I was out on Saturday night and wasn't aware what had happened. Which numbers were targeted, if you wouldn't mind letting me know.

Caution

Just a word of caution about posting your house address or even email address on the web site, just in case the wrong people are looking.

General areas are good, but if it was me I wouldn't put my address on.

Oh and welcome to the website trendk, please don't take any offence over those comments, just trying to play it safe.

Don't be afraid to ask....

Hi Trendk, If you need advice about the area, just start a new forum topic and ask away. You normally get an answer.

Bike stolen from Shed - OWL ALERT - from DawnD

Thanks to DawnD of the North West Staffordshire Rural Community website for supplying this info.
A report yesterday from Station Walks that a shed had been broken into and a £4000 worth green and black Suzuki 450 King quad bike stolen. The offender had to force through steele framed doors and then force open four padlocks securing the bike in a steele plate set in concrete on the floor.,which had also chains to enhance the security. The bike and padlocks were taken together with the bikes paperwork and the IPs licence.

Any information on the identity of the offender or the whereabouts of the bike please inform your local officers.

Determined

You are going to have trouble stopping someone who is that determined to steal something. Its not as though its some chav spotting the opportunity of an unlocked shed. Seams a bit daft to go to all that trouble securing somthing and leaving the papers with it.

Theft

Looking at this from the outside i find it difficult to beleive this was not stolen to order.

Professional theives will take what they want and most security will not deter them, they have the technical knowledge to disarm and disable most devices.

I hope the theif is caught and the owners get their property back.

We can all learn from this, in the fact that our documents should never be left with our vehicles in case they are stolen..
