All of that preparation for

All of that preparation for nowt. At least the performance on the night wasn't as bad as ITV's. I'm just glad our house hasn't got ITV HD, as those of you that have, got to see an advert, rather than Stevie-G's 3:40 goal

im doing my best to avoid all

im doing my best to avoid all football matches ,
and its not easy to do - tv-news, tv chat programmes, newspapers , radio, magazines. neigbours who are football "nuts".
to much hype.. so much more in the world to talk about, read about ,listen too. and takepart in .

prefer rugby anyday.

Same old England rubbish, no

Same old England rubbish, no one showed any flare or class it was like watching Sunday league football up the park, I feel sorry for Rob Green the British press have crucified him for his mistake. We have had four years to prepare for this tournament and watching the match it looked like the team had been picked from a hat half an hour before kickoff.

Having only watched the first

Having only watched the first 5 mins and the last 3 mins of extra time I won't comment, other than instead of crucifying the goal keeper what happend to the remainder of the team that weren't obviously as good as they should have been. Sounds like the same excuses as normal "let's blame the goal keeper" and I thought it was a team sport not an indvidual sport.

As you can see I am not a football supporter either.

Yup, and always will be. Not

Yup, and always will be.
Not as much time to prepare today because of work, but flags are still in place, England clothing being worn, beers chilling in the fridge.

Going over to my mates house to watch the footy on his 52" TV ( I won't say were it is, in case he gets an early morning visit from the local t-leaf). The footy is on BBC tonight, so if nothing else the coverage will be of a much better quality than last weeks game. And they don't do adverts!

Come on England, we need to see the Algerians well and truly pasted.

Saddo's was a reference to those knocking the footie not watching it, I'm not an avid football fan myself but I do love my country so COMMME ON YOU BEEAUTIES.

Get those flags up and get behind our boys.

I'll let you off then ;) I

I'll let you off then Wink

I have never in all of my days heard that chant before at a footy match. Can imagine how much better our pampered stars would play, as they didn't seem very concerned about playing for their country last week. But mention their looks, well you might be onto a winner.

Pretty dejected after the

Pretty dejected after the game I walked back home from down by Victoria Park to home, which was pretty much incident free, until I got to the top of the furlong, where a loud argument between a bloke and his mrs outside a kebab shop was going off.

Then as I headed down SummerBank road, by harry hancocks the road was closed, with 3 police cars and a ambulance attending. Not sure what was happening, but there was a car parked in the middle of the road with police all around.

Hopefully thats the worse the night has to offer, but I expect not

Sat here with my red England

Sat here with my red England top on (yep so far I've only worn my white one, so I think me changing my top might just do the trick, we'll know in an hour or so.

So come on England, we need something to lift the country after yesterdays budget.

Also with the game being shown on beeb might help.

Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry all need to pull those fingers out, and stop questioning your manager, and just play football.

So far, so good, with some signs of brilliance, but more importantly effort and confidence.

I won't say any more just in case I jinx it. Will me saying jinx it jinx it. Oh no, what have I done, damn this tempting fate business

Lovely Roads

How lovely the A500 was tonight at 4.30pm, only saw about 10 cars from when I left Hartshill to getting back on the estate.

I can't agree more with the

I can't agree more with the crowd, the ref most definitely is a banker, I just hope this is the kick up the arse that England need. A fantastic disallowed goal from Lampard.

COME ON ENGLAND!

Not a supporter but have to

Not a supporter but have to agree

We don't support footie in this house but do have to say that was a clear goal, shame we can't use the technology and get the goal allowed after 1/2 time.

Web Monkey's picture

Utter utter crap, disallowed

Utter utter crap, disallowed goal or not, we never started this world cup, last wednesday was a small fliker in the dark.

My point is, those players are fantastic club players, way over paid and pampered.

Bad team structure, but for me the most of the blame doesn't go to the manager, but at the players.

Feel sorry for David James

Poor Goalie Like you say, It

Poor Goalie

Like you say, It does seem to allways be the goalie who is blamed and not the other 11? players of the team

Back to normal now, all the flags will be down I assume shortly on the 2 estates!

dereth's picture

well. now perhaps there will

well. now perhaps there will be some proper news on the tv, radio and newpapers instead of football team this and that.
and other better England teams matches eg - cricket, and rugby will get aired -

you will have guessed im not a football fan by now.

My flags did not burn too well, apart from from a drip on my hand which has left a red mark. LOL...

It's all over now, and even

It's all over now, and even though it wasn't the best tournement in terms of skill, it's still going to better than what I've got to watch this next season at the Vale - which in some circles has been dubbed "the promotion" season.

Congratulations to Spain who managed to stay on the pitch with all limbs in tact, beforing sealing the game in the last 3 minutes of extra time (before et added).
The sore loser award goes to the Dutch, who were so lucky not to get more men sent off, only to complain and throw their toys out of their prams when one decision didn't go their way.

Spain 1 - Dutch - on their arses
