Crime Watch -Distraction burglaries, Smallthorne, Longton, Weston Coyney, Stoke-on-Trent
There were 3 distraction burglaries in the Longton area late on Friday afternoon. The first was at about 4.30pm in Havergal Walk, Sandford Hill at the home of an 85 years old female. Three men, claiming to be from the water-board were involved. Nothing was stolen. The second was at 5.45pm in Gardiner Drive, Goms Mill. Again three men were involved. They claimed to be police officers and produced a large wad of cash and some form of identity. Nothing was stolen. The third was Westsprink Crescent, Weston Coyney at 6.30pm at the home of an 85 years old female. Again three men, claiming to be police officers were involved. Cash was stolen.
The three men are described as white; aged 20-30years; wearing varying clothing - work clothes, then shirts and ties, navy waterproof jackets. They had headgear - woollen and trilby hats.
On Sunday there was a burglary in Apollo Walk, Smallthorne at about 3pm at the home of an 85 years old female. The offender forced his way in when the lady answered the door. She screamed and he ran off - with her handbag.
The offender is described as a white male, 45-50 years, 5'10'' tall, fat face with slight stubble. He had dark clothing, big boots and ¾ length coat.
