Bogus Official Offence [Crime Alert]

Yesterday afternoon at about 5.30pm there was a bogus water official offence in Balmoral Close, Hanford. This followed a similar offence in Audley.Two men called at the home of an 89 yrs old lady. They said that they had to test the water because of an explosion in the street. She let them in. When they left she found that money had been stolen from 3 jam jars and her handbag.

They are described as:

• white male, 17/18 years old: 5ft 2ins: slight build: short light-brown hair; sharp featured ; wearing a black fleece jacket
• 40-50 years old male. Short and slim. He was wearing a black jacket, trousers and cap. He had a speech impediment.

"Trust me - there is a heightened risk of this type of offence over the next few days."
