Warning about door-to-door duster-sellers. They will appeal to people's better nature by saying that they are ex-cons who are trying to go straight. I applaud that and wish them well. Unfortunately, they are not always all that they would purport to be. Last week they charged an elderly lady £45 for some dusters, towels and scissors. On Tuesday a local police officer stopped a seller in Milton. The officer was disturbed to find out that the seller had convictions for distraction burglary. It has been alleged that some sellers have been gathering information about vulnerable people/properties and passing the information to criminals.

Our advice is that there is a need to be wary. There are safer opportunities by which we can all be charitable.
