Night of pillage in Goldenhill as a gang of 20 teenagers steal, vandalise and burn a barn to the ground

I can't begin to tell you the disgust I feel towards the cretins who went on a rampage Saturday in Goldenhill.
The youths who'd been camping overnight off Broadfield Road went on a crime spree in the early hours of Saturday morning. These are bored, and out of control people who have lost any values their parents instilled into them. Their place in our society has to be seriously questioned.

The teenagers stole a digger from Goldenhill Gold Club destroying part of the course.

Stole 30 bottles of alcohol from a garage in Lordshire Place, whilst breaking into two vehicles on that street.

Broke into a car in Brindley Ford.

Set fire to a barn on Woodstock Road, which contained 30 tonnes of hay spreading to another barn and required 20 firefighters to put their lives at risk to tackle the blaze. Luckily the fire didn't spread to the houses near by. The damage to the barn has been estimated at £60,000

Local Police want to speak to anyone with information about these incidents who should call Hanley police on 0300 123 4455.

S.A.G.E Sandyford &

S.A.G.E Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association response.

The problem we have in Sandyford & Goldenhill is too much open space with the redevelopment of the area and it is making the north of the city a target for hooligans to come to as well as giving travellers unauthorised access to land, which allows them to cause nuisance behaviour to local people.

It seems from S.A.G.E.s point of view the thugs who are destroying our area are from further afield and don't seem to care what is happening away from their own neighbourhoods.

Local residents do need to report suspicious behaviour but the matter of fact is people are sometimes too frightened to report hooligan behaviour because of the possibility of reprisal. Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association understand that people can feel threatened when reporting incidents but they must realise we are there for them as well as the local police in any situation.

Sandyford and Goldenhill is surrounded by plenty of green countryside that residents appreciate but we are paying the price for this by giving hooligans and travellers too much space to set up camp and ruin our community environment.

Webb Monkey, and Tom, totaly

Webb Monkey, and Tom, totaly agree.
These out of control feral children more than likely come from feral parents.
They have no respect and no fear of a justice system that would probably reward them rather than punish them.
If we don't turn this around we will lose the battle.

Terry, the Greenfields

Terry, the Greenfields (Tunstall (don't want those brichesheaders on your back again)) RA have been instrumental in helping to lower anti-social behaviour over the past year.

What advice would you give to help to reign these lot in, with the resources available to SAGE and Tunstall Police.
