Donnington Park - Scalextric Champion 2010

Scalextric Champion 2010 – visit Donington Park Slot Car Festival 23rd of May.

In 2009 at Brooklands, club member Matthew Layson became the first official Scalextric Champion of the 21st century! This year we are pleased to announce that we will be continuing the Championship. The popular competition is now increased to two events, the first at Donington Museum on the 23rd of May and the second event at the Brooklands Museum the on 15th August and run in association with the independent Scalextric fan club, the NSCC (www.nscc.co.uk).

The championship will be open to all Scalextric Club members and also to the public. However, only the Scalextric Club members can win the coveted Scalextric Champion trophy. Membership lapsed? Don’t worry, you can join/renew in advance (www.scalextric.com/club) or on the day to take part in the official Championship, so bring your friends and family to race it out for the non-member prizes. The NSCC will also be running its own championship in parallel so there’s more than one Championship to be won.

This year the latest brand new cars will be provided by Scalextric for the competition so each competitor only needs to ‘arrive and drive’. It couldn’t be simpler. You can even pre-register by sending us your name and email address to champion@scalextric.com to reserve your own ‘fast-track’ route to the starting grid.

At this event, we are also running the Grand Final of the Scalextric4Schools competition. There will be real race cars, Scalextric layouts to race on and a fantastic Scalextric Racing Licence test that all the family can enjoy.
