Note, the Out line approval is based on less accommodation for both the appliance bays and general facilities. This increase has arisen through changes in the Fire Authorities briefing and during the detailed workshops undertaken during the PFI process.

Hours of Opening
As the drive to increase community ownership it is intended that the meeting room will be available to the immediate community during the day and early evening. This obviously is in addition to the fact that the operational accommodation will be accessible to respond to incidents 24/7/365 by staff that will arrive at the station within 5 minutes of the 999 call.

Additional clarification of the need for extended opening hours is provided below.
The hours applied for are:

Operational Fire Station Monday – Sunday 24 hour operation
Community Facility Monday – Sunday 8am
