We get to vote on Community Service projects in Stoke litter
The government have offered the people of Stoke the chance to vote on which Community Service project should take place (why we can't have all five or why the council haven't cleaned these ares up is another issue), but one of the choices is..
High Street, Golden Hill
Sandwiched between Elgood Street and Heathside Lane this semi-rural area is overgrown with vegetation and prone to fly tipping, litter and neglect. Offenders will overhaul and clean up the area making it more pleasant for local residents.
so if you want this project to win goto..

and vote
good luck
if you don't win get in touch with MP and Councillors and get it sorted anyway.

Limited
The schemes are really limited aren't they, you can't even suggest an area that needs cleaning up.
It's probably the areas they had pegged to clean up anyway, they're just making people think they out bid another group to get their areas tidied.
If they expanded the scheme, I'd really welcome the idea and it would take a lot of pressure off certain council departments.
yes the council has a duty
yes the council has a duty of care to remove litter and fly tipping if these 5 areas are so well know why havent they been cleaned before?
But its a start and an attempt to look like they being tough on crime
