Travellers rubbish along the Canal after invading Genesis car park
Elaborating on Terry's comment about the gypsy mess the Tunstall Residents Association fourm meeting on Wednesday.
As he mentions it's not the travellers responsibility to clean the mess up after they have finished, dumping their waste and rubbish every where, but the land owners (yep, that's the law, a bit fugged up ain't it?).
The question is, who is going to clean the banks of the canal where rubbish has been thrown over the side off the Genesis Park land. Will it be water ways?
Seems to me like a change in the law is desperately needed. Not only can a community break into a area, have to be removed through the courts, costing everyone but them time and money. But they can also break many laws such as littering and taking a dump outside without any come back.
Why? Because it's all being done on private property.
Take a look at the pictures, they are the best I could get with my phone camera, but basically, all along that particular stretch is a mess. Makes a really nice impression for all of those wealthy tourists on their canal boats heading to or from the Hare castle tunnel.
