So this is the sort of stuff

So this is the sort of stuff you look at on the Internet at night, "Drag Fighting" I'll mention it to my cousin, he used to do an act up Hanley, see if theirs a market. I'm sure Jollys (longton) would love more punters in.

Ban on flying kites in park - Health and Saftey melt down

Not local, but still made be laugh when I read it.

Safety inspection leads to kite flying ban in park playground

Children have been banned from flying kites in a playground because of fears that they could get them tangled up in overhead telephone cables.

The ban was imposed after a safety inspection at the park, in the village of Maiden Bradley, Wiltshire. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents said that a child could be tempted to climb the telegraph pole to free a trapped kite.

Stefan Piwowarski, chairman of the parish council, said: “We don’t want to stop children flying their kites but we’ve had no choice. It’s better for us to be safe than sorry. We are just making sure that we tick all the boxes for when we get these health and safety inspections.”

Paul Cox, 45, a villager, said that he had happily flown kites with his children on the park. “It's ridiculous. It's a parent’s responsibility but we seem to be living in a society where parents want to be absolved of their own responsibilities.”

A spokeswoman for the society said that it merely advised local councils on how to make public areas safe. “We are contracted by the playground provider to do an annual inspection and to help them with their duty of care requirements.”

Easy TIGER

One:
Tiger Woods is so rich that he owns lots of expensive cars. Now he has a hole in one.

Two:
What's the difference between a car and a golf ball? Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards.

Three:
Tiger Woods wasn't seriously injured in the crash, but he's still below par.

Four:
What were Tiger Woods and his wife doing out at 2.30 in the morning? They went clubbing

Five:
Tiger Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree. He couldn’t decide between a wood and an iron.

Six:
Perhaps Tiger should be using a driver?

Seven:
This is the first time Tiger’s ever failed to drive 300 yards

Eight:
Apparently, Tiger admitted this crash was the closest shave he’s ever had. So Gillette has dropped his contract.

Nine:
After a wayward drive, Tiger Woods found water before nestling behind a tree

Ten:
Apparently, the only person who can beat Tiger Woods with a golf club is his wife

Baa Humbug (well not quite)

I am well known as The Grinch Baa Humbug and not a lover of the Pagan Festival. Now I realise that in these hard times that people are economising, notable by the drop in fireworks being let off last month. But come on where are all the Christmass lights. It does not cost that much to run a few lights outside your house and it does cheer everyone up, so come on you tight gits get some lights up.
