More bogus officials to be on the look out for in the City
On Monday of this week there were four offences in Stoke-on-Trent involving bogus callers. There were two each in Blurton and Penkhull. There was a fifth offence on the same day in Newcastle.
On each occasion the caller claimed to be from the water board and that he needed entry to the house because there had been an explosion further up the road.
On some occasions one man was seen, on others three. One of the offenders is described as a white male, aged about 40 years old with short dark hair. His most distinctive feature is a long, prominent mark which runs down one side of his face, a scar or possibly a burn.
Close the door and ring 999 immediately if anybody calls at the door purporting to be from the water board and that there has been an explosion in the street.
