CRIME
Recent Break-Ins Glyn Talbot is on leave and unable to attend, Sheds on Hurricane were broken in at 04:00, sheds were broken in but nothing taken, the shed was alarmed but the intruders were disturbed.
Vans have been broken in at Goldenhill be aware and please do not leave personal belongings in view.
Trick or treat was pretty well supported and the general consensus was positive, A resident reported that an item of decoration was taken.
Two men were reported visiting houses asking to view utility bills, please do not show any bills to any callers at the door. Please call the police if unsure of salespersons.
OPEN SPACE
Glass on the park again was raised, we need to report this to 01782 234234 when
glass is noticed.
Megan advised us that 2 more POO bins were allocated to the openspace, we have asked Megan if we can also have more signage if possible. A special thanks to Bryn’s persistence on this matter, and of course thanks to Megan. Suggested locations for these bins will be near to the entrances to the park from the top of John Rhodes Way and Ernest Edgerton Close.
Residents are asked to please take greater care in collection their dog's poo now that the nights are darker. Anyone wanting free poo bags can contact the council offices in tunstall - Megan.
We requested that a sweep of the area regarding dog fouling on the openspace could be completed.
The sports court tarmac surface has grass growing through, we need to contact the contractors for this to be resolved. Megan will resolve this and speak to the people responsible.
ESTATE
The issue of Gritt bins were raised and we have been told we may be able to have more bins for both estates. Can we ask for the roads between the 2 roundabouts to be gritted.
Advice
- •Driving on ice Highest possible gear and lowest possible revs.
- •Run your tyres along the curb, allowing the friction to slow you down, and keep you on course - obviously don't do this whilst driving fast - Kev Slater (Driving Instructor) On the Road
We believe we are still not adopted!!!!! Megan will be trying to push this along for us shortly.
Alleyways were again discussed and the issue of adoption may be stopping them being cleared. - Special thanks to Steve from John Rhodes Way for the brilliant clear up job.
REGINALD MITCHELL WAY IMPROVEMENTS
Road plans, an email was received that stated that it is more dangerous!!!!!
The general consensus is that the road junction has been improved, however speed is still an issue….
Can we write a letter of thanks on behalf of the Estates in regards to the Road improvements…………… Jo volunteered.
FIREWORK SAFETY
Safety advice was given on behalf of Matt by Steve on the correct use of fireworks.
The Firework Code
• Only buy fireworks marked BS 7114.
• Don’t drink alcohol if setting off fireworks.
• Keep fireworks in a closed box.
• Follow the instructions on each firework.
• Light them at arms length, using a taper.
• Stand well back.
• Never go near a firework that has been lit. Even if it hasn’t gone off it could still explode.
• Never put fireworks in your pocket or throw them.
• Always supervise children around fireworks.
• Light sparklers one at a time and wear gloves.
• Never give sparklers to a child under five.
• Keep pets indoors.
• Don’t set off noisy fireworks late at night and never after 11pm.
ESTATE ROADS
An email was received from a resident regarding speeding on the estate, a blue Subaru has been seen repeatedly entering and leaving the estate….. Can we organise a letter drop for all residents.
Local schools can be asked to design a leaflet and or a poster for display on lamp posts.
RESIDENT ASSOCIATION
Residents association was again raised and we need to look into this specifically to raise funds. We still haven't heard off many residents if they would support or want to be actively involved.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Megan Harry Hancock has not had a section 215 issued but instead has had a section 79
The gates have not been secured on the front of this property as this we believe this is a public right of way.
