Whilst smurfing the net, I came across this website. Basically its a site for pub landlords to use, full of news and goings on in the pub industry.

However don't let that put you off as it's got some sections on there that anyone who's interested in pubs and eating out will find interesting.

For instance there is a story claiming that cheese and onion takes the top slot from ready salted in the food section.

Theres a whole section of recipes (some beer related ones ghost)

I even found some local news on there about Titanic beer being served in west minister, I don't know if Joan Walley had anything to do with it, maybe it's her favorite beer and introduced it to her colleagues.

4th April is National Pub Day

Justice for Licensees and the Save the Great British Pub campaign has launched a National Pub Day on 4 April to highlight the positive role played by pubs in communities.

Founder of Justice for Licensees and Enterprise Inns lessee, Inez Ward, has called on the industry to unite and support the event.

She added that Justice for Licensees would be producing promotional material for the day such as posters but needed more backing from high profile trade names .

“We’re calling on anybody in the trade to support this including CAMRA and the brewers. It will get people back into pubs and will be good for everyone as well as licensees.”

The Worlds Largest Toast - National Beer Week

I thought this might interest some of you lot... Not like you need an excuse

At 7pm on Saturday 11 April 2009 over 6,000 venues across the UK will try to smash the World Record for the Largest Toast.
The current record stands at 485,000 people.
The simultaneous toast will celebrate Britain’s national drink – cask ale – and wrap up a week-long festival that is National Cask Ale Week. (NB: participants don’t have to raise a glass of cask beer but can use any drink, although cask is preferable)
