If you receive a phone call on your mobile from any person, saying that he or she is a company engineer, or telling that they're checking your mobile line, and you have to press #90 or #09 or any other number, end this call immediately without pressing any numbers.
There is a fraud company using a device that once you press #90 or #09 they can access your 'SIM' card and make calls at your expense.
Forward this message to as many colleagues, relatives and friends as you can, to stop it.

not really a phone scam
It's good to be aware of potential fraud but on this occasion I think you've been mislead.
The 9-0-# scam has been around for years and is directed at US businesses, hospitals, government agencies and other organizations that use telephone switching equipment called private branch exchanges (PBXs) to handle their calls.
This type of fraud involves a perpetrator who calls an office and cons an unsuspecting worker into transferring him or her to an outside line. The perpetrator then starts dialing calls that are charged to the owner of the PBX.
UK domestic landlines and mobiles along with most of the rest of everyone is not affected. Mobiles in particular don't work like that.
The main moral in the story is not to trust people who call when you're not sure about them or don't know them. Legitimate companies will let you call them back.
Hoax maybe
Thanks for the explanation, a google search on the scam reveals it may be a hoax, although it came from a reliable source, got me thinking, how many companies these days will do testing or upgrading off their own bat, unless its a legal requirement.
