Bankeyfields Fun Day Sunday 31st May 2009.

Dear all.
The Bankeyfields fun day is now organised, and many of you will have had a leaflet posted through advertising the event. If not, then there's probably one on the way! However, below is a press release that details all you need to know, should you not get the information posted. There will be Police and partner agencies present, including sports coaches, to help with various activities, and to give crime prevention advice and maybe even a few goodies! The Police Community Bus will be parked near to the play area, so please come along and see us if you can. If you can't make the day, then give me a call and I'll either email or come and visit you.

FUN FOR KIDS
Police and their partners in Tunstall will be keeping young people busy this half-term holiday - as a number of activities are laid on.
Officers from Tunstall Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU), together with colleagues at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, are hosting two free events for children.
On Sunday 31 May 2009 young people will be able to get stuck into street games after taking part in a community litter pick. The event will be on May 31 from 11am at the Heritage Park play area, on Bankeyfields.

On May 28 young people are asked to meet officers and council staff at 10am on Coronation Street, at the Greenway, for the litter pick followed by the street games.
The events are being staged to keep young people off the streets and engaged in positive activities in a bid to drive down anti-social behaviour.
The events follow a successful two-week programme staged during the Easter holidays.

Hope to see you there - any questions please email me. I'm off for the next few days but I do check the site at home and am more than willing to answer anything urgent.

Leaflets ?

Glyn as far as I am aware no one has had any leaflets yet. As not all of the residents of the estates log on people will not be aware of the event. A leaflet drop is esential.

Steve, Just to update you

Steve,

Just to update you about the leaflets. All the streets on Hurricane, Dakota, Spitefire, Mustang and others were delivered personally by a colleague and myself. The residents association were delivering the other side of the estate.

Glad you enjoyed it

I was gutted I couldn't make it, I had a prior engagement but it was great to see so many kids involved.

I hope parents got a chance to have a chat with the police as well, and the whole day went well.

Cheers to everyone who took part, it's good to see a community coming together, especially as the kids had a good time to.
