A site every parent should take a look at - Royal Society for the prevention of Accidents
After reading in todays Sentinel the story of the little boy who almost strangled himself, after toppling out of his bedroom window with a cord around his neck, I was pleased to see they had acutally allowed a hyperlink to another website.
Someone on the comments reccomended that readers take a look at the ROSPA website in the child safety section to see if you can find any tips to better improve your home's safety.

Now I know everyone belives we live in a nanny state and to some extent we do, but this site has some practical value because in the case of most accidents, the bleeding obvious doesn't always rear its head until it's too late.
For example, houses on the Swallows Rise estate, most upstairs windows don't have locks on the windows or restrictive opening, so on those hot hot days, if a child has access (such as the bed being by the window due to the layout and size of the room) accidents might well happen.
