Spitfire & Parking
I have just had the displeasure of driving up spitfire...............
i can not believe how some person has just abandoned their car 3/4 off the pavement and very close to the roundabout facing the oncomming traffic, I would have said parked but surely people who have driving licenses can not park that bad.
Also to the person who has abandoned their car between the two roundabouts again very close to the middle roundabout with the front wheel a couple of foot away from the kerb, causing traffic to move over onto the soft snow and ice.
Most of the cars are tucked away nicely with consideration for other road users, i do understand the need to park there as s in some places iit is mpossible to get to and from certain streets safely.
May i say thanks to the 2 drivers from the bottom of my heart i appreciate the challenge as i am sure the rest of the people who now have to negotiate your poor parking and inconsiderate actions
Thanks
Gordy
PS i do hope your wing mirrors are intact in the morning.

want to have some fun?
We could try and bump them onto the pavement.

I did see the car between the 2 roundabouts yesterday. I'm pleased to say it had gone when I came home this evening - Think it was still there this morning though.
There is one advantage of all the cars parking on the sides of the road - it forces us all to use the same path up and down Spitfire, thereby getting rid of the snow/ice on the centre of the road quicker
I would understand if all the cars parked on the roadsides were there only because of the bad weather, but a lot of them are there even during the summer, even though there is room on the drive/garage of the respective cars.
There are some, further up spitfire, who even in good conditions, cause problems with visibility by parking opposite a junction, on a corner. In this weather it's even worse, as not only can you not see if something is coming round the corner, you can't stop quickly if something is there when you pull out to pass the vehicle.
Parking
To be honest , I'm starting to become a little p****d off with the parking in Spitfire Way. I live in the street and have come home from work tonight to find a white van parked outside my house. This will now obstruct my and my wifes view should/when we want to reverse out of our drive. We will have absolutely no idea should a car be coming up the road, so this could potentially cause an accident. So thank you in advance to the kind driver of this vehicle.
Parking
SJF i have to agree with you i came in last night to see the lovely American truck parked between two driveways and then this morning the Mercedes van ditched on the corner obstructing views down spitfire and making it even more difficult to get out on the ice rink at the junction than normal.
Will they ever learn or is it they just dont give a shit, cos it suits them and does not affect them directly.

Say again
Say again ? Oh you did twice
I have noticed that the grey/white Kia has not moved from Spitfire all week better than a speed ramp for slowing vehicles down.
Missed
You missed the car "parked" on Spitfire, by the entrance to Shackleton this morning - Classic!
And with the estate covered in a thin film of ice, I'd be surprised if it hadn't been bumped by the time it's owner came to move it. I know it had probably had problems on the road, but the rear end was sticking out into Spitfire, with the nose pointing slightly into Shackleton. I was just grateful there wasn't a car parked the other side of Spitfire too.
Parking - Unless people have got to comfy
Unless people have got to comfy parking their cars there, they should all be gone today.
Hopefully the flat bed van and range rover can resume their normal blocking of the pavement, forcing anyone walking, or with a buggy some difficulties. Can't wait.
