Stoke on Trent need to make it to the polling stations this thursday
For anyone who hasn't heard there is a general election going on and this week see's the general election whose result will be felt for the next 10-20 years.
It's an election that no one should say, I don't know who to vote for, or I didn't know it was happening. It's this thursday, and there has never been an election in this country like it. Both internet and traditional media have spoken of nothing but this (well maybe they let lot off a bit of hot air when the volcano rumbled). Twitter has turned from people saying I'm scratching my ear what are you doing, to I'm rubbing my nose, who are you voting for.
It's an election that will effect everyone of us more than any other election for the past 50 years, and if we get it wrong, there will be a terrible price to pay, as the country plunges into economic disaster.
Last election say a very pitiful 47% of the population of Stoke-on-Trent drag themselves to the polling booths. A pathetic amount when you think about what rides on an election. 53% of people gave up their right to change their country, and put it on a path for the next 4-5 years. It's a shameful figure, especially considering the lives lost and spent fighting so we can have that vote. Liberties that we'd soon miss if a party swept it's way in because of apathy and took our liberties away.
The general and tunstall ward local election is this thursday.
It's your vote, your time to choose, it's the one civil liberty that you can make a difference.
