Google Maps Uk - Gets Streetview
Streetview? Whats that?! Well basically google invented a multi angled camera stuck it on a car and sent it on a journey.
Great news for techno geeks like myself. Googel Streetview finally comes to the UK.
Streetview? Whats that?! Well basically google invented a multi angled camera stuck it on a car and sent it on a journey.
For anyone who uses googels maps, you might have noticed a little orange man on the zoom bar that appears when a street view is available. To access street view, all you need to do is drag the little orange man onto the map and a overlay appears in blue. Drop the little fella onto the map.
Using your arrow keys and mouse you can basically drive around the streets of where you are.
So far, I've had a nose around Edinburgh and Liverpool. Not every city is mapped yet, but no doubt it will be soon.

What are your thoughts on Street View
Because Stoke hasn't been street viewed yet, it's a bit hard to pass judgement on this.
The Bad
However I think it is a good tool for anyone who wants to do a quick recon of a street to see who has the nicest car, or the least security, how concealed side entrances are, and what type of windows are fitted.
The Good
1. If your looking for a new house, and you want to view the street, you can do so easily, and I can see this technology being picked up by estate agents.
2. I don't need to drive Mr's WM somewhere the day before, because she's got the directional sense of a inside out pigeon. We can sit on streetview and do it all from there.
