Is the grass cutting complete?

Is it me, or has anyone else thought to them selves when are they coming back to finish the rest of the grass off.

Combined Harvester

Whilst I was out walking the dog round the open-space they were in the process of cutting the grass with the tractor towing a grass cutter. Unfortunately because the grass was so long it burnt out the rubber belts on the mower. I think they are looking into hiring a combined harvester to finish the job. On the bright side if they do come back the grass that has already been cut will be due for a trim. Rolling On The Floor

Chief fire officer was very concerned this time last year

Last year, Joan Walley and the Chief Fire Officer dropped in to say how concerned they were about the grass being a fire risk.

wildlife

You would have thought the long grass would have encouraged more wild life but alas no. It seams to me that there are less birds around this year, certainly the Housemartins are not nesting in the large numbers they have in previous years. Also I have not seen many foxes around. They normally make an appearance from April onwards.

I bet the clear out of Summer Banks overgrown garden

I bet the clear out of Summer Banks overgrown garden, hasn't helped.

Basically that area has been allowed to settle, and then completly stripped bare.

What I think we should have is for a patch of the open space to be cultivated into an orchid, or mini wooded area.

To that around here though, we'd have to transplant some adult trees, rather than let little shoots grow so far and then be trashed.

Another Attempt

Another attempt at cutting the grass on the open space was being made today. Wish they would do the mini roundabout its a disgrace. I feel ashamed every time I drive on to the estate.

Yes I saw a tractor earlier, then I nipped out.

I was amazed to see that it still wasn't finished off when I got back, a couple of hours later.

-Gordy to answer your question - thats what the white sticks are for.
