Urgent weather warning from Staffordshire Police

Motorists across Staffordshire are being urged to avoid side roads and country lanes where possible, due to the continuing bad weather.

Staffordshire Police is currently receiving a number of calls from stranded motorists in need of help because of the snowy conditions.

If you have broken down please contact a vehicle recovery company. If your vehicle is causing an obstruction, and could prove to be a danger to other road users, please make Staffordshire Police aware on 0300 123 44 55.

Due to the weather long delays have been experienced on many roads across the county this morning.

Motorists are advised to avoid driving unless absolutely necessary.
