More van break ins across the city
Five incidents of theft from vans were reported to police yesterday morning, Wednesday 27 January, after being broken into overnight Tuesday/Wednesday.
Offenders stole power tools from a Ford Transit van in Chilgrove Close, from a Fiat Ducato van in Ledbury Crescent and from a Peugeot Expert van in Derek Drive. They also broke into a Renault Kangoo van in Geneva Drive but fled empty-handed.
A fifth van was attacked in Greenhead Street, Middleport and power tools stolen.
The theft of tools from vans is a significant concern at the moment. Although these incidents occurred in the Birches Head area, it may well be that the offenders do not live in the area but are criminals who have cruised that area this time. Other areas in the city have been targetted previously.
