view counter

A Stafford man is set to take part in the Douglas Macmillan Hospice's Fancy Drag Race, to show support for his friend's father.

Matt Game, aged 31, signed up for the first ever men's only event, which takes place on Sunday May 27th around Newcastle under Lyme town centre.

He is doing the event for his friend Nick Longmore, whose father has been cared for by the Hospice.

"It's a cause that's close to both our hearts," he said.

Matt, who has already raised over £300 on JustGiving for Dougie Mac; admitted his wardrobe of ladies clothes isn't that extensive.

"I did an event during my rugby team's tour last year, so I will probably be wearing the same outfit," he joked.

Regardless, he is looking forward to the Fancy Drag Race, and raising funds for Dougie Mac.

"The event looks like a fun way to raise funds for the Hospice," he said.

"All of the people who make up the Dougie Mac, deserve as much support as we can give."

Entries for the Fancy Drag Race are still open, sign up HERE.

Entry fee is £15, with all monies going towards patient care.
