i enjoy flag flying be it St Georges day celebrations or decorating a birthday party areas with banners, and I'm happy to celebrate the Queens jubilee with home made bunting ,
but on a recent trip into Hanley there seems to be an "Overkill" on Union Jack items - for the Olympics and the Jubilee.
from rain coats to nodding dogs wearing a union jack jumper .
are the shops cashing in ?
whats the silliest shabby chic thing you have seen with the red, white and blue flag on-?.
are you collecting jubilee items ?

If I remember rightly a lot
If I remember rightly a lot of stuff was given away for free when it was the silver jubilee I think I was given a coin and a coffee mug when I attended the street party in Penkhull.

I guess with the times we are in, shops will sell anything that makes a quick pound. Shame most of the produce will have been made in China.
Thats so true,we have guests
Thats so true,we have guests coming for holidays from overseas and I have had a hell of a time trying to find jubilee stuff saying made in UK,I wanted to make up a small goodie bag for each person with a few little gifts I have got some things but we have searched. I got jubilee coins from the royal mint,a five pound coin in presentation pack was tweve pounds it came in a presentation pack with a booklet about the jubilee, pricey but a nice keepsake, and I got some red white and blue sweets in fancy packs also made in UK,and from across the Churchill shop behind wickes I had london icons on coasters, made in the UK. I am happy with the goodies and I am sure our guests will be thrilled, there is stuff out there but you do have to search for it,local sweet firm is making goodie bags in union jack bags so keep an eye out for them great for kids.
